Sounds of the 80s / The Quietus

Yesterday evening, BBC Radio Two's Gary Davies gave my book a plug on his Sounds of the 80s show. "A brilliant read" he said. Why thank you Gary. Back in 1984, Davies was the new kid in town, taking over their lunchtime show. I'm wondering if he read the bit where I described him as "Radio One’s eligible bachelor, a medallion-wearing lothario"? A compliment of course.

And today I have a feature in The Quietus which, after a preamble, madly attempts to summarize the book in chronological fashion, taking a track each from Jan to Dec 1984, and endtroduces Orwell's little-known music instrument, the versificator.
