After some intense final editing, indexing, sorting out some formatting issues (ever tried putting endnotes before the index?), proofreading, adjusting the spine for the width of the final page-count, adding in the ISBN barcode etc, the book is about to go to bed on a good old Heidelberg.

In parallel, getting the word out. Should be reviews in December issues of Mojo, Record Collector and Electronic Sound, a mention in Classic Pop and working on a few others. Doing a radio interview next week and writing a 1984-related feature for The Quietus.

Someone asked me about the word 'pop' in the title. I'm using it in the very broadest sense of 'popular music', which of course covers a whole host of genres. Suffice to say, it isn't a book about Shakin' Stevens.
